Hi, I can't find it online, but I remember it was ubiquitous in doctor's and dentist's offices in the seventies. It was the entire Bible illustrated and paraphrased for children. It was about ten volumes and it always had a pocket with reply cards, in case you wanted to buy your own set. What is the title? Thank you.

Looking for a children's book involving two girls named angela and i think demona who are good and evil?
The girls represent good and evil and the bad one keeps trying to hurt the good one but at the end of the book there's a house fire and the bad twin dies and somehow joins with the good one and the remaining girl is renamed jill
Looking for a children's book involving two girls named angela and i think demona who are good and evil?
"Angela and Diabola" by Lynn Reid Banks
"From the moment they are born, twin sisters Angela and Diabola are almost enough to drive their normal parents, the Cuthbertson-Joneses, to distraction. Angela is perfect. Diabola is perfectly horrid. As a toddler she kills the cat, starts a riot in the grocery store, and causes her mother to be jailed. Exorcism fails, so the only solution is containment?Diabola must be caged most of the time. Fortunately, her teachers decide her sadomasochistic drawing is the work of a genius so she is kept busy with art and relatively free of trouble. But when her father runs away in despair, her evil energies begin to grow. She pulls down the house, learns to start fires with her mind, and wreaks havoc through her telekinetic abilities. Only Angela can stop her, which she does in an epic fight of good against evil. Good wins, but somehow Angela ends up with one of Diabola's eyes?and a little bit of evil. Banks's absurd look at human nature is often bitingly funny. Diabola hates to bathe, but she likes "lying in very hot water and gnawing on hard foods like bones, so she was not as unfresh...as she might have been." No punches are pulled and Diabola's actions are not for the squeamish. But fans of the ridiculous, and of Roald Dahl, should enjoy this wicked romp.?"

Do you know the name of this children's film?
I want to watch this movie but I can't remember the title or the name of the characters. It's about a little boy who loses his parents and starts to run across the country. He finally stops at a town split in two, black people on one side and white people on the other. He then starts to slowly open the people's hearts to each other and end the racial tension. Can anyone help me identify this film?
Do you know the name of this children's film?
Actually, it's this:
Maniac Magee (2003 TV movie)
starring Michael Angarano (of "Will %26amp; Grace" TV series, "Sky High" and "Little Secrets"), Orlando Brown, Isaiah Griffin, Wyatt Knight, Richard Lawson, Garrett Morris, Jada Pinkett Smith (narrator), Rip Torn
IMDb synopsis:
Jeffrey "Maniac" Magee was orphaned as a baby, but nothing gets him down. He comes to a small town which, although divided by racism, is populated by colorful/comical characters. As he searches for his place in the world, Maniac changes the people around him, espcially the other children. With his amazing athletic abilities and good, almost unbelievable deeds, his name becomes legend and with this new status he will try to unite the town. // The film is based on the novel by Jerry Spinelli.

What is the name of this children's book?
I read a book when I was a child of a boy who was in a house which did a lot of his chores for him. The house would automatically brush his teeth and comb his hair. One day the house went haywire and started brushing his hair with his toothbrush. I know the book had pictures and don't remember much else.
What is the name of this children's book?
Your book is called "Lazy Tommy Pumpkinhead" and it's by William Pene du Bois. It's highly memorable and therefore quite collectible!

Do you know the name of a children's book about a girl who picks strawberries?
A friend of mine remembers this book about a girl who picks strawberries for guests who stay at her family's inn located somewhere in the Alps. She read it in 4th grade in 1968 and doesn't remember much more than that...except that the story is not "Heidi." Any ideas?
Do you know the name of a children's book about a girl who picks strawberries?
In mid-16th-century Switzerland, Zel, on the threshold of adolescence, accompanies her mother on a rare trip from their remote cottage to the village. By chance she meets a youth named Konrad; unknown to her, he is the son of the count, and he is charmed by her apparent simplicity and forthright manner.
This is a possibility, the book is called "Zel" and is by Donna Jo Napoli
There is another possibility I discounted, since your friend states that it took place in the Alps and this story, called "Strawberry Girl" is set in 1930's America.
"A story of a proud, poor family that overcomes nature and feuding neighbors to become strawberry farmers. Set in the early 1930s and told from the perspective of the daughter."
I hope you find the one you are looking for.

What is the name of this children's book about WWII ?
The book is about these children in the country who are there to be protected from the war. They are taught by nuns. A guy comes and brings Jewish children and asks the children to help hide them. The title of the book is something like 'Twenty and Ten' or like that.
What is the name of this children's book about WWII ?
You're right it's called Twenty and Ten (also published as The Secret Cave). It was published 1952 and written by Claire Huchet Bishop.

What is a good name for an award given to a children's literature?
Just like the Newbery or Caldecott, I want some ideas on an award that is awarded to a children's book. My friend thought of a good one. However, I want some good names and stuff that supports the thing.
Ex. The Google Award - An award that is given to a book containing lots of information on Internet.
Something like that. But I want it in a decent quality. Thank you.
What is a good name for an award given to a children's literature?
I think ones named after classic children's authors, ie:
The Dahls (Roald Dahl)
The Blytons (Enid Blyton)
and so on.

Anyone remember a children's book about two boys named Henry?
I am desperately trying to remember the title of a book from my childhood (I was born in 1972) about two boys named Henry. I think they met in a supermarket. There might have been a teddy bear named Henry, as well. I remember the illustrations were very beautiful, possibly watercolor, similar in style to Ezra Jack Keats. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks!

What are your children's name and do they "go well" together?
My two sons:
Tanner Donald - he hates his middle name but Grandpa was a GREAT man
Kylan Archer - no family names, we just thought it was cool :)

Well, I don't have any children yet, but if it's a girl, she will be Rylie Jennifer (Jennifer after my sister) and if it's a boy, he will be Noah Zaccheus (Noah after my fiancee's grandfather, Zaccheus after my grandfather). I think Rylie Jennifer and Noah Zaccheus sound good together. They are both short, simple first names with long, multi-syllable middle names.
My siblings and I all have names that definitely go together.
Jennifer Ann
Jack Bryant
Jessica Sarah (me).
My mom likes J names. Also, my dad is Jerry and his brothers are Jim and Jack.
My sister has two girls, named:
Ashton Lynn
Logan Ashlee
These go well together because of the switched initials (AL and LA).
My brother has two children:
Graison Bryant
Alissa Sue
Go together because of the two I's where there is normally a Y.
I don't think sibling's names necessarily have to "go together", because that's what the common last name is for!

I'm looking for the name of a children's book about an grey Alley cat and a little girl?
IT's a children's book that I velieve has a blue cover and it's about a little girl and a grey tabby, I can't remeber if she finds the cat or what, I'm just trying to track down the book.
I'm looking for the name of a children's book about an grey Alley cat and a little girl?
I have a children's text book that has a very short story about a little girl whose Dad finds a cat in the streets. It is a gray cat.
The name of the text book is "Sun and Shadow." The title of the story is "Little Fog." Hope this is what you are looking for.
Here is the beginning of the story:
Little Fog
Fog was over the city.
The fog was over the streets.
It hid the tall buildings.
A hungry cat ran in the street.
He was cold and wet from the fog.
He had no bed to sleep in.
And he had no milk to drink.
The cat looks for things to eat.
He came to a big can.
He jumped into it and dug around.
But he did not see a thing to eat.
So the hungry cat went to sleep.
A truck came down the street.
A man got down from the truck.
He went to pick up the can
As the man picked up the can, the cat jumped.
But the cat did not run away.

Name of children's book series about "my teacher is a vampire" or "the lunch lady is a mermaid" etc..?
I recall once reading a series of children's books in middle school which all ran along the plot that someone- either a teacher, janitor, nurse, etc...was supernatural- vampire, werewolf, mermaid, etc... What was the name of the series exactly?
Name of children's book series about "my teacher is a vampire" or "the lunch lady is a mermaid" etc..?
"The Adventures of the Bailey School Kids" by Marcia Thornton Jones and Debbie Dadey
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bailey_Scho...
" Its main characters are a group of four children (Eddie, Howie, Liza, Melody) who suspect some persons in the stories are popular folk lore or fairy tale characters. For example, in one book they believe a man named Frank who resembles Frankenstein in appearance to actually be the Frankenstein creature himself. In other books they suspect persons to be mythical and folk lore characters such as elves, unicorns, mermaids, Santa Claus, leprechauns, Bigfoot, Cupid, vampires, Martians, werewolves, ghosts, angels, etc.
In each story, the person turns out to be someone fairly innocuous, which leads readers to only guess whether the person is the suspected being... (or not!)"

What was the name of that PBS children's show, and who was the host?
I'm talking about the children's book illustrator who would draw a scene from the story with coal. He was featured on a PBS series that I watched often when I was little (early 1970s). I think his name was Robbins, but I can't remember. Thanks.

Trying to remember the name of a children's book about illiteracy. Can you help?
I had this read to me long ago as a child, and I'd like to find it again for my kids. The story was about a guy who goes to a food store to purchase supplies to make spagetti. But because he can't read, he get's all the wrong stuff (for instance, istead of a box of spagetti noodles, he gets a box of plastic wrap, etc.) The boxes and jars all looked right to him as far as size and shape, but because he couldn't read he got the wrong things.
The moral being about the importance of reading.
Anyone know which book this was? Thanks!

What is the name of this children's cartoon?
My boyfriend watched this cartoon as a youth in the 1980's (so it may be older), and I want to try to find it for him for Christmas. From what he remembers is there's a boy whose family is turned into blue toys (or robots) and he goes to this place where there are a bunch of toys and a rocking horse tells him how / helps him to save his parents. Does anyone know the name of the cartoon he is referring to (we've already determined it's not Astro Boy)? Any help would be appreciated greatly!

Reply:I think you will find its jamie and the magic torch.
Reply:Lol definitely not Astro Boy ... is it Smurfs? :P

I need 4 names for our Children's Groups at church. The ages are 0-2, 2-4, 5-7, 8-11. Can anyone help? Ta?
We used to have groups named after bible quotes.
Maybe Matthew 19 (let the children come)?
Maybe bible places to do with Jesus? Start with Bethlehem for the younger ones and finish with Calvary? In the middle ages you could have Samaria (As in The Samaritan prarable) or Nazareth or Jerusalem.

I Can't Remember Name of Children's Book - About a Boy in an Automated House that Goes Haywire?
I remember a book about a boy who lived in a house where got him ready in the morning from getting him out of bed, to shower, to breakfast, etc. Then one day a lightening storm or something causes the whole system to go haywire and comedy ensues.
Can anyone help me find this book for my children?
I Can't Remember Name of Children's Book - About a Boy in an Automated House that Goes Haywire?
I think that's Lazy Tommy Pumpkinhead by William Pene Du Bois. Here's a description I was able to find...
Lazy Tommy Pumpkinhead
by William Pene Du Bois (Illustrator)
Lazy Tommy does little for himself. He lives in an all-electric house and various contraptions wake him, slide him from bed to bath, dress him and feed. When the power fails, turmoil follows.
If thats not the book you're looking for then sorry I couldn't help.

What is the name of this children's book? It is short stories, on is "Three little ghosts"?
The first book is "Three Little Ghosties" by Pippa Goodhart
http://www.amazon.com/Three-Little-Ghost...
"鈥?quot;Three little ghosties/sat on their posties,/eating burnt toasties,/telling big boasties." Ghostie Number One brags about scaring a bunch of "ghoulsies," Number Two crows about frightening some mean witches, and Number Three tells about spooking a huge ogre. When the boasties and toasties are finished, the threesome heads off to scare some "girlsies" and "boyses." But the ghosties are the ones running for their "momsies" when the tables are turned. The rhyming text is fun to read aloud. Cantone's glossy mixed-media collages are filled with color and motion. Various fabrics, antique papers, and objects are cleverly incorporated into the artwork and add texture and detail: a spider sits on a web made from lace and the witches' brooms are cobbled out of cut ribbon. These unique pictures perfectly capture the ghosties and their antics, giving them a slightly spooky quality while emphasizing the story's humor"

I can't exactly remember what the series was about except for that the children (a brother and sister) either ran away or got kicked out and then lived in a museum... Does this ring a bell for anyone?

I think you might be talking about Turnabout, by Margaret Haddix. Below is part of the summary and the link is to a 2007 copy. It's been reprinted and there are other copies available (some even going for 1 cent on Amazon.com).
Eighty-five years ago, Melly and Anny Beth were old women participating in a highly secret research study that reversed the aging process. However, the directors of Project Turnabout couldn't halt the reversal, and the women have "unaged" back into teenagers. Soon they will become so young that they will no longer care for themselves. Even worse, a reporter's interest in Melly is threatening to destroy the privacy that the teens alone still value in the publicity-mad culture of the year 2085. The suspense is unflagging as the two flee from unwanted exposure and search for a way to live out the rest of their days.

What is the name of this old children's book?
I'm trying to remember the name of this book my mother used to read to me. It was about this little girl's room full of toys. When the little girl would go to sleep, the toys would come to life and have a huge tea party. I think the teddy bear used to lead all the toys, and they were all organized in getting everything together. At the end of the story, the little girl notices a teacup on the floor, leftover from the secret tea party.
If you could give me any information about this book regarding the author or title, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone know the name of a children's TV programme that was like Harry Potter?
It's really bugging me but I can't remember the name of the show.
It's about three friends (the red-head was meant to be like Harry, the black-haired girl was Hermione, and the blonde boy was Ron), who go to a magical school. In their spare time, though, they fight this evil wizard-man (I only just realised that this was meant to be Voldemort).
The Headmistress turns into a cat and instead of broomsticks, they have flying scooters.
Help?

I'm an author and my next book follows a girl who works in a children's hospital. I need help from fans, readers, and the yahoo community to give me ideas for a hospital name. What is a good children's hospital name?
Most hospitals either go with the municiple theme (such as "Eastside Hospital or City Name Hosiptal) or a religious theme. (such as anything that as the word "Mercy" in it or begins with "Saint")
Reply:St. Nicholas (patron ST of Children)
Holy Innocents (babies)
St. Agnes (children of Mary)
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (death of children, though that is morbid)
St. Luke (doctors)
St. John of God (hospitals)
St. Albert (medical technology)
St. Agatha (nurses)

What is a good children's hospital name?
I'm an author and my next book follows a girl who works in a children's hospital. I need help from fans, readers, and the yahoo community to give me ideas for a hospital name. The story takes place in New York City, and I want a hospital name that sounds convincing. Thank you for all of your help, I look forward to seeing your answers.

What is a good children's hospital name?
Most hospitals either go with the municiple theme (such as "Eastside Hospital or City Name Hosiptal) or a religious theme. (such as anything that as the word "Mercy" in it or begins with "Saint")
Reply:St. Nicholas (patron ST of Children)
Holy Innocents (babies)
St. Agnes (children of Mary)
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton (death of children, though that is morbid)
St. Luke (doctors)
St. John of God (hospitals)
St. Albert (medical technology)
St. Agatha (nurses)
Sts. Aloysius Gonzaga, Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows, John Berchmans, John Bosco, Maria Goretti, Stanislaus Kostka (all of youth)
Reply:Saint Peter's Lutheran Hospital
Alloway Medical Center
anything that sounds good 'ull
do, darlin :)
saint, mercy, etc. always help.
Reply:I would go with a saint named hospital that seems to be a good kind of name for a children's hospital maybe Saint Elizabeth's
Reply:Little Dumplings Recoveratorium or Anne Mayer Pediatric Hospital (who's Anne Mayer? you come up with that as the writer).

What is the name of that horrific children's book?
I remember seeing it and how me and my family were amazed that it was allowed to be published. It had very disturbing images of dead bodies, dogs urinating on fire hydrants, blood on the streets, etc. What is the name of this book, the author, and how was this allowed to pass as a children's book???
What is the name of that horrific children's book?
Are you perhaps remembering Edward Gorey's work? He wrote and illustrated Amphigorey, The Gashlycrumb Times, and Cautionary Tales for Children, among others. His work may be macabre in parts, but for the most part it is very imaginative and creative.
Reply:I'm not sure since all you have is the cover images. Try http:www.allreaders.com
You might be thinking of one of R.L.Stine's books. they are sometimes creepy looking but are usually age appropriate.

Not sure this is what you're looking for but the only thing I can think of is a book my daughter had, actually it was 3 books in one.....so I don't know which one of them had the bird in it. They were by Diane Duane. The 3 books are: So you want to be a Wizard, Deep Wizardry, and High Wizardry.

I read this Greek children's book years ago and am looking for it for my niece. The dryad in the story is anxious to become human and so she goes looking for a way to do so and in the process is told by the Oracle at Delphi that she has to die first.

I need the name of an older children's book about the earth getting dirty and animals and aliens clean it up?
the earth gets really dirty and the animals try to clean it up and aliens come to help them. this book is from the 70's. children's picture book.
I need the name of an older children's book about the earth getting dirty and animals and aliens clean it up?
It sort of sounds like "Barbapapa's Ark," but in that the earth became polluted, so the Barbapapa family built a spaceship and took all the animals with them into space and lived there till people noticed the animals were all gone and cleaned up the earth. The Barbapapas were blobby creatures of different colors and they had different talents/abilities -- one was artsy, one was strong, etc.

I forgot the name of a children's story about and grandfather and grandson who put back an old car from parts.?
My husband thinks it's a children's story from England about how a grandfather who has found parts of an old car he once owned that's been scattered in different locations in the area, puts it back together with his yound grandson's help.
I forgot the name of a children's story about and grandfather and grandson who put back an old car from parts.?
At first I thought it was Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but that was actually the father, not the grandfather, who put together an old race car that his young children loved to play with.
Best of luck to you. I'll check back to see if someone else knows!

Has anyone tattooed their children's name on them?
My husband and I both have our daughter's name on our shoulders and in a couple of weeks we will have our new son's name done.
Has anyone tattooed their children's name on them?
I have a 3 of my daughter names in my chest (its not as trashy as it sounds) the idea was to have them right over my heart. Im very happy I did it %26amp; I think my girls feel special when I tell them They are my heart.
Reply:i think getting tattoo's of your children's name is just about the best tattoo you could get,
you should totally do it.
i'm going to get my future kids named inked on me, forsure.
Reply:i did I have my sons name with a clover next to it my mom has a symbol and me and my two siblings on her as well and my sister with her two kids just something small that will be with me forever
Reply:I don't have kids yet, but I think it's a fabulous idea. (Never would have guessed you for the tattooing type. I like you even more now.)
;-)
Reply:my mum has Karen %26amp; Naysa tattooed on her back (her name and mine) over a long stemmed rose with a scroll wrapping around it
Reply:I have my daughters name, Makayla Lynn underneath a fairy :)
Reply:No, I don't do tattoos. Does it count that their names are tattooed on my heart?

What the name of a Children's Book (Ages 9-12) that involves two boys and blueberries?
There is a children's book which involves two boys and the one boy dies early in the book and the rest of the book is all about the other boy being depressed. I know that some how blueberries or some type of berry is involved. And the boy who dies I think his name is Jamie and he dies from an allergic reaction to bee stings. I cannot think of the name of this book or the author at all and I need help finding it. I'm thinking it could be not used in schools anymore because it deals with death and depression. If you have any clue please let me know, Thanks

Does anyone remember the name of this children鈥檚 book?
It is a short illustrated book about a boy who uses a marvelous machine to get him ready in the morning. He slides down a tube or something and machines dress him, brush his teeth, and finally pack him a lunch once he reaches the bottom. The humorous ending is that he then must climb a very tall flight of stairs to get back up. The book is 25+ years old. Does it sound familiar to anyone? Thanks!

"Lazy Tommy Pumpkinhead" by William Pene Dubois
http://www.amazon.com/Lazy-Tommy-Pumpkin...
"Lazy Tommy Pumpkinhead was a boy that had all his belongings computerized. His bed, shower, clothes, and food were all controlled electronically and he never had to do anything for himself. When a storm knocks out the electricity, Tommy sleeps for seven days. When he awakes the machines go crazy and do seven days worth of work in one day"

Snetterton has it right, it's Little Donkey I think you mean.
Little donkey, little donkey
On the dusty road
Got to keep on plodding onward
With your precious load
Been a long time little donkey
Through the winter's night
Don't give up now little donkey
Bethlehem's in sight
Ring out those bells tonight
Bethlehem, Bethlehem
Follow that star tonight
Bethlehem, Bethlehem
Little donkey, little donkey
Had a heavy day
Little donkey, carry Mary
Safely on her way
Little donkey, little donkey
Journey's end is near
There are wise men waiting for us
And to bring them here
Do not falter little donkey
There's a star ahead
It will guide you, little donkey
To a cattle shed
Ring out those bells tonight
Bethlehem, Bethlehem
Follow that star tonight
Bethlehem, Bethlehem
Little donkey, little donkey
Had a heavy day
Little donkey, carry Mary
Safely on her way
